For this book club, we read: Il Treno dei Bambini, by Viola Ardone
Published in 2019, Viola Ardone’s book tells a story of childhood, hope, and resilience, set against the backdrop of World War II and the social and political struggles of post-war Italy. In this article, we will explore the plot, meaning, and message of the novel, as well as its moving ending.
