Lesson 1 Italian for beginners – Introductions

Introduction in Italian language

Here are the basic phrases that you need to get you started in Italian:

1. Your very first phrases…

For example:

Ciao, mi chiamo Laura e sono Italiana.

Can you write something about yourself?

2) Three questions to get to know someone…

  • Come ti chiami? Mi chiamo Laura
  • Di dove sei? Sono Italiana
  • Che lavoro fai? Faccio l’insegnante

Now it is your turn. Can you write something about yourself?

3) Three more questions, to know them better…

Here are their meaning and possible answers:

Come ti chiami? Mi chiamo Annabel

Di dove sei? Sono di Londra (sono + di + city)

Che lavoro Fai? Faccio l’insegnante (faccio + profession)

Dove abiti? Abito a Manchester (abito + a + city)

Ti piace l’ltalia? Sì, mi piace molto. / No, non mi piace.

Quali sono i tuoi hobby? I miei hobby sono tennis, leggere e viaggiare.

Practice

In order to remember, it is good to practice. Can you write a short paragraph about yourself?

Example:

Ciao, mi chiamo John e sono inglese. Abito a Manchester ma sono di Londra. I miei hobby sono: calcio, golf e dipingere.
